The Chamber’s Education Committee is hosting the second annual East Montgomery County Spelling Bee on Thursday, February 17th at 6:00 pm and is inviting all businesses in the Chamber to enter a team of your greatest spellers. 100% of the proceeds will be given out in scholarships to area high school seniors to continue their education. The scholarships will be awarded through the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County through its annual scholarship program. The Chamber has supported the Rotary Clubs scholarship program for several years and this is a way to expand that support and at the same time give you an opportunity to support our students as well.
Businesses, or individuals, can enter a team of three spellers for $100 or if you don’t think you have good enough spellers you can sponsor or "rent" spellers for an entry fee of $150. You will be recognized in the program for the event with your entry.
This event will be a FUN raiser while at the same time raise funds for scholarships. To keep things lively during the spelling bee teams can purchase immunity stings for $25 (limit two) that will keep them in the competition for another round.
The Education Committee will be developing the words that will be used and all words will be from a current and readily available dictionary. Get your best spellers together and enter your team today.
