The Annual Chamber Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday Oct 20, 2011 at Oakhurst Golf Club. The tradition continues with the best golf tournament in East Montgomery County. This year’s golf outing will once again be held at the beautiful Oakhurst Golf Club with a 9 am shotgun start. Golfer registration will begin at 8 am.

2011 Texas Sawmill Festival - a great day!

Saturday April 16th the EMCID complex was transformed into an entertainment complex filled with fun activities for children, great food, music and dancing, and historical displays.

2nd Annual Spelling Bee

The public is invited to join us and cheer on our spelling contestants.

The Chamber’s Education Committee is hosting the second annual East Montgomery County Spelling Bee on Thursday, February 17th at 6:00 pm and is inviting all businesses in the Chamber to enter a team of your greatest spellers. 100% of the proceeds will be given out in scholarships to area high school seniors to continue their education. The scholarships will be awarded through the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County through its annual scholarship program. The Chamber has supported the Rotary Clubs scholarship program for several years and this is a way to expand that support and at the same time give you an opportunity to support our students as well.

Texas Sawmill Festival

Celebrate the heritage of our historical communities in East Montgomery County. Join us as we step back into time at the Texas Sawmill Festival on Saturday, April 28th 2012. Located at the EMCID Complex on Hwy 59 N.

We invite you to come to New Caney as we celebrate East Montgomery County history. Craft vendors, food concessions, historical displays, Live Sawmill Demonstrations by Alvin Smith Logging, old timey pictures, live music on the grandstand outdoors, carnival games, school choirs, rock climbing wall, petting zoo, giant slide and moonwalk, and tournament competitions - sack races, bucket relays, and more. We are partnering with our local schools, library and fire departments for a fun filled day for our community.
