 Leadership East Montgomery County (EMC) began in 1999 to promote and obtain the current and future leaders of east county. The goals are to increase civic involvement and reduce the communication gap between traditional networks of community leaders. The Leadership EMC program is composed of eight sessions (including an opening mandatory session) focusing on leadership development for the expressed purpose of enhancing both economic and community development.Leadership East Montgomery County is a member of the Association of Texas Leadership Programs. Mark your calendar for October 21st 2010 to play in the Chamber Golf Tournament.
The Chamber staff and Committee Chair Pat Chandler are now accepting registrations for the October 21st Chamber Golf Tournament. This year a morning round of golf will be followed by lunch. The new format will provide an earlier completion of play as well as opportunities for more involvement by area participants. Committee Chair Pat Chandler (Lone Star College-Kingwood) has once again assembled a great team of volunteers to help her organize the event.

3RD ANNUAL SUMMER PROGRAM
Summer Activities: Food, fun, and activities for all ages
Because the program has grown so much over the last two years, it has been split into three groups. Each group will learn valuable life skills through food, dance, music, visual aids, crafts and just plain fun!!!!!!!
Each group will be taking an AWSOME field trip at the end of the program and each participant will receive a certificate of participation
So come join in the fun, its Free!

Goody Bag Items needed for new teachers.Each year the Chamber welcomes new teachers to our area by presenting them with a goodie bag  full of promotional items from our members. You are invited to bring your items to be included in those goodie bags. We need (tba) items for each bag. Please bring the items to the chamber office no later than August 4th at the Chamber luncheon. The bags will be presented to the new teachers at thier orientation in August. New Caney ISD holds a Community Expo on August 13, 2010. NCHS Annex-Cafeteria The Community Expo is an opportunity for your business to meet and greet approximately 100 new customers. Vendors are asked to bring a door prize. Please park in the back of the annex. The expo will run from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Businesses can begin setting up at 10:30 am. Please RSVP by August 10, 2010. The public is invited to join us and 'cheer or jeer' on our spelling contestants.
The Chamber’s Education Committee is hosting the first annual East Montgomery County Spelling Bee on Thursday, May 20th at 6:00 pm and is inviting all businesses in the Chamber to enter a team of your greatest spellers. All proceeds from the entry fees will be given out in scholarships to area high school seniors to continue their education. The scholarships will be awarded through the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County through its annual scholarship program. The Chamber has supported the Rotary Clubs scholarship program for several years and this is a way to expand that support and at the same time give you an opportunity to support our students as well.
